ANZAC Day - 25 April - is probably Australia's most important national occasion. It marks the anniversary of the first major military action fought by Australian and New Zealand forces during the First World War. ANZAC stands for Australian and New Zealand Army Corps. The soldiers in those forces quickly became known as ANZACs, and the pride they soon took in that name endures to this day.
Yeah I feel ya, I've been to Iraq and unfortunately when I came back I relized how much Americans take for granted. The lack of knowlegde and apprecation is mind blowing. You can see it on the news all day long but to live it for over a year and see people get hurt and killed is diffrent. Its something most people just dont understand. ash

Too bad we keep losing the best because of the continuing need for wars to enrich certain sectors of the free-world military industrial complex. The US will probably have lost 3,000 in Iraq by the end of the week. Not to mention the tens of thousands wounded, the Allied deaths and the massive loss of life to the civilian populations of Iraq and Afghanistan.
