I've seen quite a few pieces like this before, and I've always thought them somewhat confusing. However, that aside, I do think it is incredibly beautiful; it offers a lot to the eye, and the contrast is wonderfully done.
The piece looks 3D, which is something not many people, when trying, manage to conquer. The image has depth and intricacy, and I could spend a long, long time picking out new details with each look over it.
Yes, it is confusing, but it is wonderfully so, I love the depth you've included, and I love the intricacy and contrast of it all. Overall, a lovely, detailed piece!
